NEW POLICY REGARDING ID DOCUMENTS
NEW REQUIREMENT WHEN SUBMITTING IDENTITY DOCS (ID)
The Department Military Veterans (DMV) has added a new requirement to registration documents / annexures of all Military Veterans when applying for registration or benefits.
An Affidavit, stating changes to Identity document numbers, must accompany all applications. This is applicable to all Veterans who are not registered yet. In other words, whether you are applying to register, your applications have been submitted or your application is still with CMVO awaiting verification and/or documents, you need to send an Affidavit, stating changes to your Identity Document number. Please remember to quote your force number as well.
CMVO apologize for any inconvenience. Remember, especially if you served in the military years ago you registered on your old ID number but when the new barcoded ID was instituted, the last 3 digits of your number changed. This change now is questioned by DMV and they changed their policy in order to ensure you are still the same person.
If you are not sure which ID you submitted, it is recommended that you in any case submit your affidavit which indicate that both the numbers belong to you. Please be so kind as to send it back to firstname.lastname@example.org or fax it to 086 218 0005, as soon as possible, in order for your registration to progress/proceed.
